Adaptil can help your dog to adjust better to modern living by creating a supportive environment to help prevent behaviour problems, caused by every day stressful events. Adaptil is a synthetic copy of the dog appeasing pheromone naturally released by a mother dog to comfort and reassure her new puppies. Adaptil is non-sedative, non-systemic and as such can be used alongside other types of medications. Adaptil has been scientifically proven to have the same reassuring effect on puppies and adult dogs. It is particularly useful for new or challenging situations.
Simple things can upset your puppy or dog - new people, car rides, being left alone, fireworks or even a baby being brought into the home. The visible behaviours that you notice can be a result of your dog trying to cope.
- Drooling and licking of lips
- Excessive barking and whimpering
- Soiling in the home
- Panting & pacing
- Trying to escape
- Seeking out owner
- Destroying household items

Ok, but!!
I do think these collars work because my two dogs don't seem to be as much of a nightmare with other dogs when we are out walking but as the previous reviewer said, the collars are very difficult to fasten, unfasten or alter, the collar is a very snug fit under the fastening. I don't understand what the extra bit around the whole of the collar is for that you remove and it's not mentioned in the pack insert.

Great Product
Used for my 9 year old lab who is an alpha female and we have introduced a new puppy into the mix. Has worked really well to keep her relaxed.

Great for dogs who hate loud noises
Always put an Adaptil collar on my dog in October/November as it stops her getting stresses during the firework season.

Design change!
I have bought lots of these with good results but they have changed the design, they now get loose very easily. I realise this is probably a safety feature in case they get caught but now needs constant adjustment.

Review
Having used adaptil collars on my stressed dog for over a year I found it worked/calmed him pretty well. I have just opened the 'new' style collar and attempted to replace his old one. Because the collar is now slimmer the fastening on it seems very difficult to slot through. It has taken me several attempts over two days to manage to get it fastened which has stressed the dog out. Not impressed with the new design but will have to persevere as I do think it works!!
