Lack of routine, long distance travel, family in the house and loud noises such as Christmas crackers or over New Year fireworks can tip them over the edge. Adaptil will naturally help to reassure your pet in these challenging situations and create a more relaxed environment for them. Adaptil Diffuser helps dogs overcome fears and stress, and eases the fear of travel. Plugs into an electric socket (for best results, change diffuser every four weeks), mimicking the natural pheromone produced by lactating females, which promote a sense of well-being and reassurance.

Pheromones are species-specific and have no effect on cats. Dog Appeasing Pheromone Adaptil Diffuser is also odourless to humans. Undesirable behaviours such as excessive whining and barking, and adult destructive chewing, were improved or resolved 85 and 72 per cent respectively, in clinical trials.

Fireworks: Noise fears are very common, affecting up to 80% of dogs in the UK. In most cases dogs showing noise fears can usually be helped by providing Adaptil support and following a few simple steps. This should include building a den, drawing curtains, turning on the TV and most importantly acting normally and ignoring any fearful behaviour.

Rescue / Boarding Kennels: The kennel environment can be stressful for you and your dog. Some dogs may show stress-related behaviour such as pacing or barking. Others may go off their food or develop diarrhoea. Consider fitting an Adaptil Collar before the dog enters the kennel. This has been shown to prevent excessive barking and help dogs adjust more quickly to kennel life.

Travel Fears: There are two aspects to travel problems; motion sickness and travel fear. However, the symptoms of each are very similar and many dogs are believed to suffer from both. Reduce the stress associated with travelling by using an Adaptil Collar or Adaptil Spray. However, in some instances it may also be necessary to treat the motion sickness with medication.

    Works for my dog

Posted by kitchenwiz on 22nd Apr 2019

I bought this as my saluki gets abit uptight when left, she has no other vices but when she was left I would come back to all the cushions off the sofa and off the bed and the bedding on the floor... I bought this and from day one nothing has been disturbed and even when visitors come now she doesn't pester them, she just lays in her bed, this won't work for everydog as they're like people all different.. But it worked well for mine

My rescue staffie was becoming more stressed as she got older. Purchased adaptil plug in and spray for her bed. She now sleeps through the night, even when its windy!

    Not for my Doberman

    Posted by Sophiejane123 on 22nd Nov 2018

I have a very clingy 9 month old Doberman who howls as soon as I leave him on his own. Bought this to hopefully stop him from doing this. Unfortunately did not help in the slightest however, my neighbours have 2 Cockerpoos who thinks that this has helped hers to calm down. Maybe not for Doberman’s but possibly helps certain breeds.

    I was skeptical but...

Posted by HayleyP on 19th Nov 2018

I never bought the plug in because I didn’t think it would help at all but it really did help my girl while the fireworks were going off. The valerian drops weren’t quite enough and it isn’t fair to drug her up. I’m very impressed :)

    Not sure it works?

Posted by Cockapoo lover on 18th Nov 2018

I bought this aswell as the spray as my dog was having trouble settling in his crate due to having a cone on for 9 wks. It really messed up.our routine so thought I'd try this out. It does have a musty smell and my dog was aware of it but I don't think it worked for us sadly. I think spraying it onto his bed helped slightly.

    Improvement in behaviour

Posted by SkipDog on 16th Nov 2018

I bought this around bonfire night as my 10yr old appears to have developed a huge fear of the loud bangs. This is not a miracle cure but we saw a huge improvement in his behaviour. Only had 1 incident of destructive behaviour (rips up cardboard or carrier bags etc)
