Lack of routine, long distance travel, family in the house and loud noises such as Christmas crackers or over New Year fireworks can tip them over the edge. Adaptil will naturally help to reassure your pet in these challenging situations and create a more relaxed environment for them. Adaptil Diffuser helps dogs overcome fears and stress, and eases the fear of travel. Plugs into an electric socket (for best results, change diffuser every four weeks), mimicking the natural pheromone produced by lactating females, which promote a sense of well-being and reassurance.

Pheromones are species-specific and have no effect on cats. Dog Appeasing Pheromone Adaptil Diffuser is also odourless to humans. Undesirable behaviours such as excessive whining and barking, and adult destructive chewing, were improved or resolved 85 and 72 per cent respectively, in clinical trials.

Fireworks: Noise fears are very common, affecting up to 80% of dogs in the UK. In most cases dogs showing noise fears can usually be helped by providing Adaptil support and following a few simple steps. This should include building a den, drawing curtains, turning on the TV and most importantly acting normally and ignoring any fearful behaviour.

Rescue / Boarding Kennels: The kennel environment can be stressful for you and your dog. Some dogs may show stress-related behaviour such as pacing or barking. Others may go off their food or develop diarrhoea. Consider fitting an Adaptil Collar before the dog enters the kennel. This has been shown to prevent excessive barking and help dogs adjust more quickly to kennel life.

Travel Fears: There are two aspects to travel problems; motion sickness and travel fear. However, the symptoms of each are very similar and many dogs are believed to suffer from both. Reduce the stress associated with travelling by using an Adaptil Collar or Adaptil Spray. However, in some instances it may also be necessary to treat the motion sickness with medication.

    Great for rescue dog.

Two weeks ago I adopted a 3yr old lurcher from the RSPCA who was a bit nervy in his new home to begin with. I thought I'd try this product and within a minute of plugging it in Flash was laid on his side relaxed. It was amazingly quick! I've also bought an Adaptil collar to keep him calm while I slowly get him used to being in a train.

Seems to have worked a treat!!

This has really helped calm my two 18 month old mini daxies following a house move and change of routine. They went from frequent barking with ears pinned back all the time to their usual relaxed selves...maybe even more relaxed than usual. It has been a god send

Really helped my hyper “teenage” pup settle

    Posted by Saz27 on 7th Jun 2018

I have quite a hyper, energetic breed of dog that needs a lot of mental stimulation and physical activity to keep him occupied. We have worked a lot with training techniques to encourage calm behaviour but sometimes he just won’t settle, especially now with warmer months and his obsession with finding and chasing flies and spiders in the house. He reacted to an noise outside and always seemed a little edgy. The packed clearly states not to be used for hyperactivity or aggression. However, over excitement in puppies and junior dogs puts them in a highly aroused/anxious state. After plugging in the Adaptil plug-in he was much more settled that evening, settled down much quicker instead of getting up and down constantly. Day two..... he was much more chilled and seemed happier to sleep on the sofa all day, allowing me to get on with work, as opposed to reacting every time I moved in the hope he’d get attention. I am keen to try this out when staying at friends houses as he does take a day or so to settle in new environments. I am confident it will help along with the Adaptil tablets! Definitely worth taking a risk on this and trying it!

I am very disapointed with the DAP. I plugged it in but after 12 days my dogs were more aggitated than they were before so they were getting me up all through the night

We have an 11 month old border collie who is hyper-active most of the time.We have been using this for the past month and it does seem to calm him down quite a bit, especially at night.
