The hooks need replacing as they come undone/bend out of shape & have sharp pointy edges which cause serious injury - we use chains and hooks from old ferret tubes or from hardware stores instead. Perfect in Summer to prevent rats overheating - we use ours as airy chewable hammocks which the ratty girls like sleeping on during warm days.
