The Gentle Leader®`s unique triple action, patented design counters the pulling instinct in dogs by gentle pressure being transferred to the back of the neck and muzzle, naturally stimulating a relaxation response.

Make final adjustment to nose loop and then close the adjustable sliding clamp, and start walking straight away. Once fitted in this way, it should not be necessary to re-open the adjustable sliding clamp, unless your dog is still growing. The clamp is the most technically advanced element of the Gentle Leader, and is not designed to be repeatedly opened and closed. If put under habitual stress in this way it is liable to break. To remove the Gentle Leader, always open the buckle, leaving the clamp in place.

  • Strong and long lasting
  • Soft weave for comfort
  • Easy to fit
  • Endorsed by leading animal behaviourist
  • Informative training guide

Gentle Leader® is a unique, patented design that has been scientifically designed to work with your dog's natural instincts in order to control unwanted behaviour.

A dog's natural instinct is to pull on the lead, Gentle Leader® counters this in three ways:

  • Gentle pressure is transferred to the back of the neck, naturally stimulating a relaxation response (the same as when a mother carries a puppy by the scruff of its neck)
  • Gentle pressure around the muzzle of the nose loop naturally gives a relaxation response
  • It works like a halter rope - where the nose goes the body will follow

    A true arm-saver!

Posted by Archer on 25th Nov 2018

Our Labrador puppy is 5 months old and whilst he has learnt to heal at puppy class, he only tends to do it when he’s tired. He’s now 18kg and I could no longer hold him back when he wouldn’t heal/was too excited without my arm feeling like it might drop off within 5 minutest. My Mum reminded me that we had one of these collars for my Labrador as a child, 25 years ago. Having introduced it carefully (instructions in the packet) Archer heals perfectly when he wears it, and it’s changed our walks significantly.

    Puppies older dogs...anything that pulls

Posted by Olliepole on 15th Oct 2018

Have had one if these for four years for my dog, a shaggy lurcher whose enthusiasm to walk always ended in neck sores from a standard collar. Looking after my son's 11 month puppy and trying to walk two dogs is only possible with the purchase of another gentle leader. Keep the lead short and gently turn the head...it will change your walking enjoyment.

So happy with the gentle leaders, I have two large breed 7 month old puppies who are very strong, these have given me back control.

    Great for dogs that pull

Posted by Archiebbb on 16th Sep 2018

I have a rescue Newfoundland who I was really scared of walking as he pulls so much and lunges at other dogs. This has transformed our walks I have complete control and can always get him away if he pulls towards a dog. The only reason I gave four stars is because it leaves a bit of a mark on his nose after a walk but then again if he didn't pull it would not do this! Overall soo happy with it.
