Feliway® Friends is a synthetic copy of the cat appeasing pheromone (CAP) which is naturally produced by the mother after giving birth. This pheromone helps to create a bond between her and her kittens and creates a harmonious environment where her kittens feel safe. Feliway® Friends has the same effect when used in the home and has been shown to help housemate cats live in harmony together.
Signs of Conflict and Aggression Between Your Cats can Include:- Fighting
- Staring / stalking at each other
- Hissing, growling, spitting
- Blocking each other
- Fleeing from housemate cats
- Avoidance in response to housemate cat
- One cat remaining hidden
- Ensure that you have enough food bowls for all the cats in your household. Place the bowls at different heights to avoid all the cats eating in the same place (you can utilise tops of shelves or chairs for example)
- Make sure you have a litter tray for each cat in the household plus 1 extra in different places around your home. It is important to check your cat's preferences as older cats may not be able to access the same litter trays as easily as younger more agile cats
- Provide escape routes that are available all the time for your cats, as well as hiding places for them to bolt to, should they need them. Remember, when a cat is stressed, scared or wants some privacy, they like areas they can go to that are warm, quiet, safe and most importantly where they can be alone
- To avoid any unwanted cat visitors entering your home, you can fit a microchip cat flap that will only allow your cats in and out of the household

I used this for 5 months when I was homing a stray cat whom my cat was terrified of. It was a gradual process but now the two of them are really good friends,- lots of kissing and body rubbing. I'm sure the Feliway contributed enormously to this turn around. I now always have a Feliway Classic plugged in because I've noticed how much calmer my cat is when I have visitors.

Moving House
My 3 cats had to live in a fairly limited space for 6 months during a house move and the first few weeks were a nightmare with my male Bengal toileting in places he shouldn't and being aggressive towards my female Burmese. When I plugged in a Feliway Classic the general atmosphere improved but when I added a Feliway Friends the soiling stopped altogether and all three cats became much happier in each others company.

At our house?: Feliway Freakout and Fight
Your mileage may vary. We have an older, prima donna kitty who loves people but hates other cats, so she occasionally hisses and snarls at the other cat when he's just in the same room. I thought we'd try this "Friends" formula to see if different pheromones would help. NOPE. It did not seem to work at all. If anything, the hissing turned into dramatic yowling and fighting at 3.00AM -- seemingly a withdrawal 'symptom' from changing tactics. We are going back to the regular Feliway, as that does seem to help most of the time.

Definitely improved, definitely calmer
I bought this having used the regular Feliway before. We recently homed a kitten with our senior cat and although we did proper introductions so that there were no issues about acceptance, there was definitely competition and his kitten boisterousness was leading to scuffles and fur flying and some anxiety from both cats about whether the other was safe to be around. Took a few days after plugging in before I noticed any difference with this, but on day 9, for the first time ever, our senior girl groomed the now 6 month old kitten boy, and he let her, calmly. I would say that for our cats regular Feliway works, and this works just a little bit better. Worth the price differential, to me anyway.
