Feliway can help your cat adjust better to modern living by creating a supportive environment to help deal with unwanted feline behaviour. Feliway is a synthetic copy of the `feline facial pheromone' or `happy marker' that cats leave behind when they rub their face on people, furniture, doorways and other objects in the home. It is a sign they feel comfortable and safe in their home environment. When used in the cat's home environment, Feliway provides the same comforting effect as natural pheromones do when deposited by cats themselves. Feliway is a non-sedative, non-systemic and so can be used safely alongside other types of medications.
Cats are at their most loving and content when they feel in control of their environment. Anything that interrupts this can unsettle them, such as moving, redecorating or bringing home a new baby or pet. Over time this can increase your cat's stress level, which can be expressed in various ways:.
- Scratching or urine spraying in the home
- Less interaction with you / hiding away
- Anxiety when travelling
- Loss of appetite
- Over-grooming
Over time, if untreated, these behavioural changes may cause health related issues. Using Feliway can help give your cat a feeling of calm and reassurance. It is clinically proven to help reduce inappropriate behaviours caused by stress. The diffuser releases a comforting pheromone in the local environment and should be plugged into the room where the cat spends most of it's time, perfect for preventing unwanted behaviour at home.

For cats under stress
I have 2 cats and one of them who is like the Felix cat is prone to urinary problems when she gets stressed. The vet recommended Feliway, so I keep one for use when indicated.

Working like a dream
This does exactly what it says it should. Bought on behalf of my parents who's 13 year old cat sadly wasn't socialised properly when she was a young kitten and get stressed very easily. This works amazingly well, over the Christmas period when I visited with my young children she was so unaffected by them it was almost as if they weren't there. My parents cannot believe the difference it has made in their lives.

Good For Stressed Cats
We have a very stressy cat. Feliway has been great in helping her. I recommend it for others with similar cats.

We got this for our rescue cat.
Don't know if this helped or not. Very difficult to tell if she is settling because of Feliway, or that she's just getting used to our household. We were willing to try it, however, as we wanted her to be happy with us.

young cat with a fear of the vet
My kitten was found at 6 weeks old on a lonely french forest road, with no sighn of a mother cat or any siblings. He was hungry and disorientated and welcomed us picking him up. He is now, 8 weeks later, imported in the Uk, with passport and all and is happy. adapted well, as I put feliway working in his nightquarters. He is a very lucky cat. we call him Lionheart, as he is brave and ginger marbled.
