As in humans, plaque bacteria constantly forms in the mouths of all cats and dogs. Once plaque has calcified into tartar, it can no longer be brushed off. Se lo llevo dando ya un año porque a mi pastora alemana le empezó a salir sarro, y eso junto al pienso seco y lavarles de vez en cuando no le ha salido nada de sarro. Y a mi bodeguera también le va muy bien, prácticamente no le ha salido sarro, y eso que ni siquiera mastica. Además no les huele casi nada el aliento.

We have two mini dacs...breed is known for having bad teeth. we use this in conjunction with dentastix and regular brushing. our vets think it helps so who am i to disagree. But it only helps...its not a miracle cure !
