Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a complete hypoallergenic veterinary diet for the diagnosis and management of food allergies in dogs of all ages, including puppies.

Some dogs may suffer from food allergy, which can cause skin discomfort and/or digestive upsets. PPVD HA is a true hypoallergenic diet specially formulated with a single protein source and purified carbohydrate source and, in addition, the protein has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to cause an allergic reaction. Such hydrolysed diets are recognised as the best type of food to use during an 'elimination diet trial' when trying to diagnose (or rule out) food allergy.

During such a trial it is important that your dog is fed no other food or treats. PPVD HA is also useful for dogs with severe bowel disease such as IBD as it is particularly highly digestible.

  • Single hydrolysed protein broken down into tiny components too small to cause any allergic reaction
  • Purified carbohydrates to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction occurring
  • Added omega-3 fatty acids to help maximise natural anti-inflammatory process

Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a true hypoallergenic diet formulated with protein that has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to provoke an allergic response, and a purified carbohydrate source.

    Purina HA

Posted by Anitra on 11th Aug 2022

The vet advised me to give this food to my male dog for bad stomach issues. First 5 weeks was great, however, then every 3 to 4 days stomach flare ups were occurring so I took him off it. My female dog has skin issues and the vet advised trying her on this food as well, so far she has great improvement but it has taken about 3 months, she loves this food so all good. Every dog is different and it’s trial and error. Good price when compared to other brands of hydrolysed food.

    Excellent product!

This food was recommended by our vet for our dog that has food sensitivity, it suits her perfectly, no more tummy troubles! Would highly recommend it and don’t consider it expensive, an 11kg bag lasts our retriever approx 7 weeks.

    Doggy do-do

Posted by Johna on 29th Jun 2022

Seems to suit my male lab. I mix it with a little Hill's digestive care 'original' food and water. He's not too keen on it, on its own. Little pricey though!

It solved my dogs upset stomach in a very short time

Posted by Jan Carter on 10th Dec 2021

My greyhound had an easily upset stomach from when we first got her from a re-homing centre. Then it got so bad we went through months of tests, etc. with the vet and nothing helped. She ended up with pancreatitis. Finally he put her on HA and she was better within a few weeks. She can now have some plain foods added, turkey, duck, etc. although nothing with grains. The vet told us to keep her on HA permanently as it works so well. I now have a happy dog without a permanent stomach problem.

The vet recommended switching our Frenchie to this when we had lots of allergy/gas/stools issues. No lie this completely eliminated all the gas/smells and irregular stools. 100% would recommend
