Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a complete hypoallergenic veterinary diet for the diagnosis and management of food allergies in dogs of all ages, including puppies.

Some dogs may suffer from food allergy, which can cause skin discomfort and/or digestive upsets. PPVD HA is a true hypoallergenic diet specially formulated with a single protein source and purified carbohydrate source and, in addition, the protein has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to cause an allergic reaction. Such hydrolysed diets are recognised as the best type of food to use during an 'elimination diet trial' when trying to diagnose (or rule out) food allergy.

During such a trial it is important that your dog is fed no other food or treats. PPVD HA is also useful for dogs with severe bowel disease such as IBD as it is particularly highly digestible.

  • Single hydrolysed protein broken down into tiny components too small to cause any allergic reaction
  • Purified carbohydrates to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction occurring
  • Added omega-3 fatty acids to help maximise natural anti-inflammatory process

Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a true hypoallergenic diet formulated with protein that has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to provoke an allergic response, and a purified carbohydrate source.

    Brilliant for my Boston Terrier

    Posted by #N/A on 1st Sep 2018

Have been using this for about 5 months now with our Boston terrier, who had terrible tummy troubles, combined with the world's most awful wind!! Discussed with our vet, and she agreed that this was a good food to try. Our BT is now wind free, and tummy trouble free, her sore skin has also healed up, and her fur has grown back on her bald patch. I Am so pleased with this food.

    Oliver has inflammatory bowel disease

    Posted by #N/A on 23rd Aug 2018

Due to ibd and associated food allergies Oliver a 10year old terrier mix was prescribed this food. Without it he gets very ill. I add a bit of water and drop of olive oil to aid digestion. He is doing very well on this food for years so I have no reason to change.

    A lifesaver!

We acquired a rescue dog 18 months ago who quickly developed severe IBS, with associated severe weight loss ( from 18 kg to 14.5 kg). After many vet visits culminating in 3 days of tests at the Royal Veterinary College, we were told to feed this food exclusively. Although it looks unappetizing , our dog loves it, has regained all the weight lost and now looks a picture of health, with boundless energy and great zest for life. A superb product.

    Prescribed by Vet

My dog has developed allergies and we were sent to a Vetinary Referral Centre, this was prescribed and he has improved considerably. We add a mashed sardine (in olive oil) and he has a carrot instead of dental sticks. Whatever it has or has not in its formulation it has worked for us.

    Good for my dogs allergies

I was recommended this food by my vet as my dog has skin allergies so narrowing down what he’s allergic too is costly and this was one of the only option I had. I used to feed him on raw food which he loved so going from raw to this food didn’t please him very much. However after accepting he was going to get nothing else he now eats it no problem. He still scratches and he’s on medication so I don’t actually know if this food is doing anything worth while however it’s better to know there’s nothing in it that can be causing an allergic reaction. It’s cheaper than some of the other brands I was recommended and apparently my vet said it’s as good as the others so I’m quite happy to buy this one I do recommend it.

    Great for digestive problems

    Posted by #N/A on 16th Jul 2018

6 months ago, Rufus developed ulcerated colitis and IBS at the age of 12 months. He lost 10% of his bodyweight and could not tolerate anything. Our vets recommended this food and after 6 months and gradual re-introduction, he is now back on a normal diet. This product is amazing, he loved it. I had no issues with fussy eating, he cleaned his bowl, his faeces became solid and reduced in quantity, proving the minimal waste products normally included to ' bulk' up mainstream dog food. In fact, we are still using it up as his treats as he enjoyed it so much.
