Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a complete hypoallergenic veterinary diet for the diagnosis and management of food allergies in dogs of all ages, including puppies.
Some dogs may suffer from food allergy, which can cause skin discomfort and/or digestive upsets. PPVD HA is a true hypoallergenic diet specially formulated with a single protein source and purified carbohydrate source and, in addition, the protein has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to cause an allergic reaction. Such hydrolysed diets are recognised as the best type of food to use during an 'elimination diet trial' when trying to diagnose (or rule out) food allergy.
During such a trial it is important that your dog is fed no other food or treats. PPVD HA is also useful for dogs with severe bowel disease such as IBD as it is particularly highly digestible.
- Single hydrolysed protein broken down into tiny components too small to cause any allergic reaction
- Purified carbohydrates to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction occurring
- Added omega-3 fatty acids to help maximise natural anti-inflammatory process
Purina Proplan Veterinary Diets Canine HA Hypoallergenic is a true hypoallergenic diet formulated with protein that has been broken down (hydrolysed) into very tiny components that are too small to provoke an allergic response, and a purified carbohydrate source.

Great for my Boy.
This is my third purchase, this time I bout the 11kg bag after 2x 3kg bags. Had to ensure that it was suitable for my boys Hypomortality. Again much cheaper buying the larger bag ( about 31 days meals per 11kg)

Hypomortality
My boy Warwick became extremely ill in January 18 and after xrays & scans an emergency operation was needed due to a twist in his digestive system. No obvious blockage could be seen. A 90 min surgery was carried out. He was in a poor state and in Great pain. After spending the night in intensive care with opioid painkillers,he was returned to his Vet and remained in their care during the day for 9 days,he was only allowed home to sleep. Diffrent foods were tried from bland boiled chicken, bland roasted chicken. GI food and numerous medications. Nothing worked he started to go down hill fast and lost a dangerous amount of weight. He was Finaly prescribed Pro Plan FortiFlora Pro biotic powder,Steroids, anti biotics and Pro Plan HA food. Finally he has improved within 36 hours, weight gain to correct weight, playing and not sleeping 23 hours. I am only on my second 3kg bag,now I will be getting the 11kg bag& FortiFlora as it's been decided by his Vet that this is right for him. The diffrence in him is beyond words. I have my 8 year old best friend my Cainine son my world back.

Terrible but necessary
My Dog has been diagnosed with moderate to severe inflammation in his Oesophagus, Stomach and Duodenum by Endoscopy and biopsies confirmed Lymphocytic-Plasmacytic Enteritis. He has to have a Hydrolysed protein food while the inflammation is reduced with steroids. There is no way I want to feed my dog maize, soya or sugar - the 3 main ingredients in this food, but when I switched him to the Hills Hydolysed Protein z/d food based on chicken livers he had chronic diarrhea. My Vet says that my dog shouldn't react to hydrolysed chicken even if he is allergic to chicken but the diarrhea stopped when I put him back on this awful food. So we're stuck with it for now. My dog had perfect white teeth but is getting plaque buildup after a month on this food :-( It will only be worth feeding this if we can get the inflammation under control on it...
