Balanced and complete feed for cats - Specially for senior cats over 12 years old.

Ageing cats have different nutritional needs than their younger counterparts; that's why it's important to modify your cat's diet as it ages, to ensure that those needs are being met and maintained.Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+ is suitable for cats over 12 years of age and is specially formulated with the nutritional needs of your senior cats like yours in mind. Some senior cats experience a slight decline in their senses of taste and smell as they age, this can typically lead to a loss of appetite and consequently a lower intake of food. Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+ food has highly palatable kibble with a double texture (crunchy outside, soft inside) that helps stimulate a senior cat's general appetite. As cats get older, they require a diet that includes certain nutrients that help maintain their health through the natural ageing period. That's why Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+ contains a complex of antioxidants that support senior cats through the ageing process. Thanks to a moderate phosphorus level, Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+ also helps to support healthy kidney function, which is highly beneficial in senior cats.Royal Canin® Senior Ageing food contains a carefully-considered balance of minerals. This helps to support your cat's urinary system and maintain overall urinary tract health. To cater to each cat's individual preferences, Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+ is also available as wet food in either a delicious gravy or succulent jelly. If you're considering mixed feeding, simply follow our feeding guidelines to ensure your cat gets an accurate amount of both wet and dry food for optimal benefit. At Royal Canin® we're committed to providing nutritional solutions to your pet's needs. All of our products undergo an extensive quality control process in order to guarantee the optimum quality of food as well as catering to its specific dietary requirements and lifestyle. This means that when your cat eats Royal Canin® Senior Ageing 12+, it's getting a complete and balanced diet.

Appetite Stimulation: In some senior cats, the senses of taste and smell decline with age, which leads to lower food intake and subsequent weight loss. Ageing 12+ helps stimulate the senior cat’s appetite thanks to a highly palatable, double texture kibble which is easy to chew.

Healthy Ageing Complex: Limits the consequences of ageing on cognitive function, mobility, and oxidative stress thanks to specific nutrients (tryptophan, EPA-DHA, and a complex of antioxidants including lycopene and beta-carotene).

Renal Health: A decline in kidney function is common in older cats. Ageing 12+ contains a moderate phosphorus level to help support renal health.

Urinary Health: Formulated to help maintain health of an adult cat’s urinary system.

My cat seems very satisfied with this food

Posted by Chuck on 26th Apr 2021

I was using another food from Royal Canin which he also liked, but he was moaning an hour in advance for food, so I thought I'd change and tried this one. Have been using it for about 6 months now. It's a lot easier for him to chew (softer), he loves it and it seems to keep him full for longer. He patiently waits for the time of the next meal without moaning.

    Super fussy cat!

Posted by Fussy cat owner on 26th Apr 2021

My 12yr old cat as always been a nightmare to get food for. He’ll often turn his nose up at food without even trying it. Or, he’ll try something and eat it and I get fooled into buying more of the same which he refuses to eat! He’d never tried royal canin before so I bought him a small bag to try first and I have to say he loved it! I then purchased the bigger bag and so far he still seems to be enjoying it. Fingers (and paws) crossed he’ll be loving this for many years to come. All in all, one happy fussy cat and a very happy owner!!

    Eaten eagerly

I have an elderly but unfortunately overweight cat who helps himself to food available in the houses of neighbouring cats. His first preference is to eat his portion of Royal Canin here and apart from his weight problem, I have to admit he will take on intruding cats is still lively at intervals, very affectionate and has a beautiful coat. The vet is also impressed with his teeth - he has always has a dry food diet from us. I feel happy that I am giving him the best chance of health, in spite of himself!

    Great for the older cats

    Posted by Chelle64 on 26th Apr 2021

I brought this for my cat as she is 14 years old. She had previously been on Royal Canin weight management range and as she was now at weight my Vets were happy with it was time to move her over to “normal” food so I choose this range. I’m happy to say she is loving it.
