Excellent food
Was recommended this food for my five year old rescued shih-tzu who was in a bad way having had gallstones and was painfully thin. This, combined with the dry s/o food, has turned her into a happy cheeky little dog who is now the perfect weight with a shining coat and eyes. Vet now very pleased with her condition.

Medically great but otherwise a poor quality diet
My dog has urine that is too alkaline & produces struvite crystals causing blood. This food does exactly what it says, neutralises the ph and dissolves the crystals. In that sense I would recommend it. Sadly I do not rate the main food content of royal canin at all. It contains wheat, grains and various ‘derivatives’, and consequently has to be fortified with extra vitamins, oils and minerals to provide nutritional benefit. I wish the active ingredient in this food was available in other far superior foods. I think it is necessary for my dog in order to manage her problem but I will only feed her a small amount mixed in with her proper quality diet (Guru) . In this day & age with all the development that has gone into pet diets it’s is a great shame this medical product is not widely available across better quality brands. I guess there will be a contract or licensing agreement that prohibits this? Anyhow, if your dog has alkaline issues & struvite crystals it will definitely do the job, so it still merits a 3 star in my opinion.

Excellent food
I bought this for my dog as the vet said she had a struvite bladder stone and wasnt keen on just the dry kibble she was on. She loves this food and it seems to be helping dissolve the stone. Happy purchase

Great for preventing urinary issues
My dog wasn't keen on trying new foods, it took a few times of trying but he now loves this food. No more vet visits, no more crystals in his urine and I have a healthy dog again!
