My siamese has always been a picky feeder so when she had an attack of pancreatitus and had to go on a low fat diet I was afraid I would spend a lot of foods that she would simply ignore. Royal Canin Gastro Intestinal Moderate Calorie turned out to be a winner. She eats it readily and keeps it down. Easy to feed and store. Not cheap but effective and from Pet Supermarket, available at a good price.

Question, how to diet a cat and deal with diarrhea? Answer, try this food, both pouch and dry. My cat has been on the gastro intestinal for nearly 18 months starting with the ordinary calorie one and moving onto to the moderate calorie one. I wanted to reduce his weight by a kilo and succeeded at Christmas 2012 (getting his weight down from 7.5 to 6.5 kilos). It is expensive but well tolerated and gives firm stools. Plus clean bowls every time but watch out for other cats as they like it too.

My girls had months of diarrhoea when they were young kittens until the vet recommended this. They seem unable to tolerate any other food. Two years on and they still love it, clean bowls every time!

My young Maine Coon has chronic colitis as a result of severe infection. Her diet is now restricted to Royal Canin gastro-intestinal diet, which she loves, and Royal Canin sensitivity control. At last she is thriving. It is a joy to see this.

The price is good from Pet Supermarket.
