A nutritionally complete and balanced, highly palatable diet for chinchillas with parsley, plantain and linseed. The high fiber levels are very important for a chinchilla’s digestive system and also help to wear down continually growing teeth. Fat levels are very low because chinchillas can easily become overweight. Linseed is another important ingredient to ensure their soft coats stay glossy and in good condition.
But it is what we don’t put in to Selective that is important too…
Have you checked the label on your chinchilla’s food lately? Take a look, because some chinchilla foods contain molasses or syrup or other sugary ingredients. This extra sugar in a chinchilla’s diet can lead to overeating and obesity. It can also lead to dental problems too.
Feeding Selective for the first time?
If you are feeding Selective to your chinchillas for the first time, make sure you change from one food to another, gradually over 10-14 days. At first, you should mix a small amount of Selective with your chinchillas’ current food, slowly decreasing the old diet, whilst gradually increasing the quantity of Selective. A sudden change in diet can cause digestive upsets – even when you are changing to a better quality diet – so take care!
If your chinchillas are used to a sugary diet, you may find it takes them a while to change, but persevere as it will help to benefit their health in the long term.
And don’t forget fresh hay and water! Your chinchillas should have an unlimited supply of both at all times.

After conducting a survey of my chinchillas aged 6 years - 2 months, everyone is in agreement that they have healthy bowel movements, well filed teeth and enjoy their food.
My eldest has had this food since 3 months old and we have had no problems with teeth or refusal to eat, with the younger chinchillas preferring these biscuits to treats. Would highly reccomend.

My two boys who are very fussy up until now would not eat anything apart from Bephar Care, I mixed some of this with their Care tonight and they are eating it and leaving the Care. Going down a treat!!
