The unique number on your cat’s microchip is permanently stored in the memory of the cat flap, even when the batteries are removed. When your cat approaches the cat flap from the outside, it reads their microchip and the door unlocks. When installing into glass, the SureFlap Mounting Adapter is required. This is because glass requires a circular hole. The mounting adapter ensures that the flap fits into the glass correctly with no gaps. The adapter can also be used when installing into a wall as it leaves a smooth and clean finish.

Such a brilliant cat flap, I had misgivings at first thinking it wouldn't work for my cat, maybe it wouldn't be able to recognise his microchip, but it worked 1st time to my amazement. Also its a bit smaller than my last one but its absolutely fine. I fitted it myself, quite easily. Wonderful product!

Arrived next day after ordering late afternoon. Subsequent contact with Sure Flap direct was brilliant as I had a problem working out which way the batteries went. Be careful,it may not be what you think. The cat flap works really well, the cats learnt how to use it straight away. I would recommend it to anyone.

This cat flap is the best thing invented my 2 cats were getting terrorised in there own home. Since fitting this flap both my cat are now back to there usual tricks. The service from yourselves was first class. I ordered the flap on a Saturday afternoon and it was delivered on the Monday at lunch time the courier text to say exactly when he would be here

I had understood that once the flap read the microchip that the flap would OPEN not just unlock whenever the cat put its head inside the tunnel. Silly me! Plus the glazier has cut the hole too high for the cat to enter from the outside. He said it was the law. So, my cat will go out through the flap but it is too high for her to come in! I had to take out the batteries to disable it so I now have a very expensive ordinary cat flap. So make sure you read unlock as exactly that and not 'open'!

This has been in place since October of 2012. Accepting the microchip, was fun and getting the cats through the hole to programme it. They were used to a cat flap but not one with a longer tunnel. We did have a problem with local cats dropping by for a quick feed and then our tom-cat deciding to spray all over the place. This has now stopped and I think even the cats feel less threatened. The best product on the market - we did have to buy the extra mounting bracket because of the existing cat-flap hole.
