Easy set up, takes patience to encourage cats to use.

Purchased two cat feeders when we adopted two more kittens. The microchip cat feeder was intended to stop the newbies from stealing our older cats food. In part this worked until the younger kitten worked out if she stood next to him she could still steal his food until he moved and the action closed the lid. Her sister has a chip feeder and as she will not tolerate theft of her food the feeder does work. Getting into the habit of the same coloured feeder and the same place is worth it though. Good purchase. Once our little sneak thief is old enough to be chipped we are definitely purchasing another feeder .

    Brilliant!

I brought 3 of these for my 3 cats because the male is a chonk and steals food off his sisters. Vet said we had to limit his food so this was the only way. The only thing I could say that’s negative about the feeders is that they could do with the side plastic guards going all the way around the back so as another cat can’t access the food from the back when the designated cat is feeding at the front. They work brilliantly though!

    The other cat gets in

Posted by Katieevs on 21st Nov 2019

Bought two as one cat needs to loose some weight but the otner doesn’t. Does work well and the cats got used to it very quickly despite the sound when it opens and shuts. However the fat cat is clearly not stupid and if his bowl is empty but hers has food he will paw at the lid of hers to the point it is pulled out and he can get to the food. So now I have to make sure there isn’t too much in her bowl in case he decides to pull off the lid for extra food. Not the best design

    Microchip feeder

Bought to separate my old gents so meds’ were not taken by the wrong cat. Sinbad has had trouble was recommended by sureflap to raise the feeder which made all the difference. It does not let Oliver in to Sinbads bowl, it works perfectly, is easy to clean, absolutely recommend this product.

    My fat cat is thwarted

Posted by Hmac on 30th Jul 2019

So far slim cat has figured it out (in 2 seconds) and has been enjoying her food at leisure. Fat cat has gone from all different angles and pushed in beside her, but because of the intruder setting he has been thwarted everytime. I have found it out in the middle of the floor a few times, but still intact. Well worth it.

Good for Elderly cat in multi cat household

    Posted by Cal5 on 11th Jul 2019

I bought this to make sure my Elderly cat was getting the right amount of his daily food. In a multi cat household this is great to make sure the right cat gets the right food/ amount. The only con i would say is, if your other cats etc are quick enough , they can push in next to the cat and it will stay open enough for them to eat the food quickly. However, one way I have gotten around this is to have the feeder on top of a small platform ( almost foot stall height) so that my cat has easy access and is not reachable to more than one cat. The product is easy to clean, would recommend using some pet safe wipes for the feeder and the accessories wipes/ in sink. Works well with the microchichip scanner / ID tag that is provided.

    Absolutely fantastic

    Posted by Donna84 on 2nd Jun 2019

I bought theses feeders for the same reason as everyone else, I have 1 fat cat who shovels up my other 2's food. My 2 younger cats (one of which is the fat one) took to them immediately, my older cat not so easy. She was spooked when the door opened and wouldn't go near it, but after persistence and treats, I noticed one day after I came home from work and the other 2 were out playing, she had eaten and the bowl was empty. Some times things take time, they are animals and don't understand. I would recommend these feeders to anyone, yes they are a little pricey, but they are well made and serve the purpose for which they were intended. You do need to buy batteries (some people have complained about this, but it does say on the advert)!! I am very pleased with the 3 feeders I purchased :D....... although 1 of the cats may not be so pleased.

    Love it

Posted by Nessparr on 29th Mar 2019

Just replaced after over 4 years of use - and our Ernest likes to open and close it for fun. They are really handy for our cats who are on different diets. Doesn't take them long to get the gist of how to work it. The batteries last quite a long time. There's an added bonus of keeping the flies off their food in summer and any cat straying in through an open door or window will go away disappointed.
