The Yakers Himalayan Yak Milk Dog Chew is an irresistible and uniquely flavoured dog chew made from a mix of skimmed Yak and Cow milk for a delicious taste and an extremely long-lasting treat.
Yakers find their origin in the hills of the Himalayas. Originally made for human consumption, they are still widely eaten by the Himalayan people and their dogs. They are made from a mix of skimmed Yak and Cow milk. A very small amount of lime juice and salt is added to coagulate (harden) the milk, which is then compressed into blocks and smoke dried for 28 days to give the chews their unique flavour.
Depending on the size of your dog – as well as how determined he or she is – Yakers can be an extremely long-lasting treat. The hard texture means dogs need to soften and work at the treat before they’re rewarded with small pieces to chew off. So you get to keep them happily entertained for a lot, lot longer. You can also put the small end pieces in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds until they puff up. Allow to cool and then give back to your dog to finish the treat.

Long-ish lasting chew
These are a huge hit in this household! Willow (Labrador) will take a few days with these as she’ll stop after about 30mins. My favourite part is that I can pop the final bit in the microwave to puff it up so that I’m less worried she’s going to choke on it as she loves lying on her back with it in her mouth! If your dog doesn’t get bored of chewing, likely that it won’t last more than an hour.

Fine - but not great for big chewers
These used to last my golden retriever hours and hours. Now she’s bigger we’re lucky if it lasts an hour. Sure it’s good for smaller dogs or dogs that aren’t crazy chewers but for us it isn’t worth the money any more.

Yakers Dog Chew
My dog loved this hard chew. It kept her occupied for ages. She leaves rawhide chews and never goes back to them but she returns to Yakers again and again. I shall definitely be ordering more. A healthy treat at last!!!

Good distraction but he gets bored easily
Good little long lasting chew. My dog gets bored easily so I only leave it with him for about 30-40mins at a time but he seems just as eager when I get the chew out again.

My pugs love these!
My two pugs love these yak chews. They keep them occupied for ages. I get them the medium size and it seems right for them.

Kept him quiet for a bit!
At first he didn’t know what to do with it then after about 30 seconds he sat down and started to nibble on the end, A few crunches in I thought it was quite brittle but he loved it!

NOT THE SAME STANDARD ANYMORE
This is the third time buying. Each time I have had to return. They are substandard. Supposed to last for hours. They were snapped and broken in five minutes.

Mine love these
I will not let my dogs have rawhide chews, and then saw these recommended. No nasty chemicals, just made from milk. Mine love them. They are not too hard to damage teeth either. When there isd just a little bit left, you can microwave it then let them finish it off.
