Zylkene is a natural product that helps your dog or cat feel less stressed and return to their normal happy selves.
How it works:
Zylkene contains a natural product derived from a protein found in milk and works to calm your pet when they are feeling stressed or worried. The ingredients soothe their brain receptors, helping them to feel less stressed.
The Zyklene powder is packed into capsules which can be fed whole. If your pet refuses to swallow pills you can still give them this treatment. Simply open up the capsule and mix the powder in with your pet's food – they won’t even notice it’s there! It is designed to be fed to your pet once a day with a meal or treat.
Since Zylkene is a natural product that has little to no known side effects, you can feed it to your pet for as long as they need it. It can be given for short-term stress, possibly related to changes such as a house move or unfamiliar visitors. Or if your pet is adjusting to a more permanent change of circumstances (like being left alone during the day) they can be given Zylkene for longer periods until they settle down.
When to use it:
Animals react to stress in different ways, so it's important to learn how to spot the signs of it in your pet. Is your cat withdrawn or does she run away and hide? Is your dog more grumpy or being naughty? In scary or unfamiliar situations, pets can show that they are feeling stressed through bad or unusual behaviour.
If the cause of stress is temporary (such as a new visitor in your home or loud building work taking place) your pet will often return to normal once the problem’s removed. However, permanent changes such as a change in their routine or a new pet in the house might need you to take further action to reassure your pet.

Works for us!
We occasionally buy Zylkene for both of our dogs, tend to add it to their breakfast from the end of October through to mid November to help them deal with the stress induced by all the fireworks that people seem to see fit to let off over an increasingly (and infuriatingly!) prolonged period in the run up to and immediately after Bonfire Night. Our dogs both seem to benefit: seem more relaxed, less intense response to sudden loud noises, fall asleep more readily. Deducting half a star because it's pretty expensive, but only half a star because it does work so well for us that it's not too devastating when we only use it for around 1 month out of the year.

Helped Cat Tremendously
My 3-year old cat is known to be very sweet, funny and playful. He is indoor-only and has never been bothered by it. He has lots of indoor enrichment. We recently moved to an apartment, which is stressful for any pet. But my new roommate (who initially portrayed himself to be very kind and calm) had me completely fooled. He has a terrible temper and yells constantly. Extremely unpleasant. His crazy girlfriend came to visit & they yelled and argued constantly. It was absolutely unbearable. My poor sweet cat was so stressed out, he was yelling and crying constantly, and trying desperately to escape out the front door. I rushed him to the hospital worried sick by this unusual behavior. After 3 very thorough examinations and tests by 2 excellent doctors, $1000 later, they both concluded he was very stressed. Our regular doctor prescribed Zylkene, and it has worked so well! My beloved cat is back to normal. Better yet, crazy GF is gone! And we are moving soon!

J'ai connu le Zylkène grâce à mon vétérinaire il y a une dizaine d'années pour un problème de cohabitation entre mes 2 chats (femelle dominante et mâle effacé) d'alors : un mois de zylkéne aux 2 animaux, couplé avec la diffusion de Feliway a nettement amélioré le problème. Depuis, à chaque source de stress prévisible ( hospitalisation ou absence programmée du maître, maladie ou décès d'un chat, travaux bruyants dans la maison etc..) je l'utilise sur une durée minimum de 15 jours à 1 mois pour en voir les effets positifs sur mes animaux.
