Like humans, some dogs can be prone to weight gain as they become older or less active. Neutered or spayed dogs can also be prone to excessive weight gain due to reduced energy requirements. Older, overweight or less active dogs still need a carefully balanced diet, with high quality ingredients to maintain their health and condition and field & trial light & senior has been specifically formulated to meet these needs. Wheat gluten free made with easily digestible chicken and rice, it is lower in protein and fat which can help dogs lose excessive weight. It also contains enhanced levels of glucosamine and chondroitin to help protect the joints of your dog.

5 Food of choice

Always use this for the Archduke Ralph, an ageing border collie with arthritis so needing to watch his weight now he is not so active. Before this he would have other variations 8n the Skinners range. It is great value and suits him very well.

Skinners light & senior gives my 7 & 8 year-old collies great nutrition with joint support. They love eating it; I love buying a British product made by a family business.

5 Does the job

Bought to try out with our Lab. to try and watch his weight. He seems to like it (he is a Lab!) and doesnt seem to be any more hungry than usual, so if this helps with his weight so much the better.

Our dog has recently changed to Skinners food from another Senior light brand. She has lost weight & is a bouncier dog & really seems to enjoy this food.
